Update Sudaaa

Assalammualaikum... Wahh rasa memang lama sangat tak update blog ni... bukan apa, rasa malas sangat sangat tau.. Oh ye kepada yang sudi datang ke rumah kami yang tak seberapa ni masa hari raya yang lepas terima kasih daun keladi tau. Sila datang lagi ye. Suke sangat... 

Okey let's just start with the latest-going-on-thing. Here it is: New job at new place. Again. Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah for this rezeki. I believe He knows what's the best for me and for everybody. I'll just keep praying, insyaAllah. 

Tada.... my new ID card

Tak boleh blah still guna gambar 4 tahun lepas. Bajet sangat kan. (^^,)/

Ye, saya sangat jakun sebab tak payah punch card lagi pergi dan balik kerja. Cuma touch je card ni pada pintu. Tapi kalau lupa bawak habisla, nak pergi tandas pun kena lalu dua pintu...

Sekali lagi jakun sebab mesin fotostat kat sini ada 'Log In ID'. Setiap orang ada ID masing-masing untuk fotostat dan print. So takdela istilah serkap jarang berlaku pembaziran A4 ke, apa ke. terus boleh trace siapa culprit tu. 

Mulanya School of Allied Health Sciences dibuka di Kota Damansara, tapi sekarang ni akan run sepenuhnya di Petaling Jaya (HQ). Nasib baik, sehari je saya pergi ke Damansara. Office sekarang hanya 4km je dari office husband. Oleh itu, beliau dengan rasminya jadi tukang hantar dan balik kerja saya hari-hari.Wakaka.

Eh baru sedar tiba-tiba ber'saya-saya'. Takpe, lebih sopan kan. 

Disebabkan nak pindah, kami buat inventory untuk Lab. Wahhh kagum gila barang untuk Safety and Industrial Hygiene sangat lengkap. Saya bagi rating 4.8 bintang. 

PPEs- earmuffs, respirators. Apa benda ni? Sila google.

PPEs. Siap ada kaki retort atas tu, lab lain punya. Eh betul ke nama dia kaki retort ha.

All the Industrial Hygiene equipments. Banyak sangat dan complete.

Head of Dept yang sporting dan lecturers yang gorgeous. 

 Ergonomic chair. Ada 3 bijik semuanya. 

 errr skeleton ni untuk subject Anatomy. Encik yang naked tu tak tahu tujuan dia berdiri kat situ.

 Ni yang lastt sekali sempat ambik gambar. Audiometric booth. hohohooo. Hanya yang belajar OSH je tahu apa benda ni, kan...

Haritu ada jamuan Hari Raya, tapi lupa ambik gambar. Cuma sempat ambik gambar buat bintang beramai-ramai.

 Secara ringkasnya setakat ni saya happy dengan environment baru dan harap sangat dapat belajar banyak benda baru. Tak sabar rasanya. Kelas akan start mid Oct ni. Short semester, so I'll be damn busy. 

Okeyla, tak dapat nak tulis lagi, sebab mata dah nak tutup je ni, padahal banyak je cerita tau...Husband pun dah jeling semacam je sebab dok mengadap laptop dari tadi. 

Naj tunggu dia tanya tak, "Chatting dengan sapa tu?" macam hari tu. Har har jelous rupanya, tapi mana ada orang nak kat perempuan gemuk ni?

OSH Seminar and ABC

Last week my colleagues and I attended a Seminar at NIOSH, Bangi in conjuction of OSH day on 28th April every year.

We arrived at about 8.30 am. My fellow lecturers (Nadzirah, Aishah, Rosita, Bavani, Carmen) are all interested to be a part of the event as the topic of the seminar is related to Green Economy . They really have passion and eager in gaining new knowledge. My friend Nadzirah even want to pursue her study in Environment. I really adore her.

Dr. Khesson, s speaker from Thailand

All  of us agree that the presentation from SIRIM was the best. The presentation skill and even the slides was superb. I was happy when Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye (NIOSH Chairman) gave his speech in Bahasa Melayu and English. He also encourages OSH to be introduced to schools as the students are our next generation. 

Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye planted a tree as a symbol to Green Economy, Green Jobs and decent jobs. 

Ohhhh i totally forgot to snap a picture of the foods provided. They are super yummy, especially the vanilla muffin. Betolll tak tipu...I wish to attend other seminar in the near future. Very valuable and informative. 




Later that night, my husband and I hanged the ABCs and 123 that my boss (Head of Academic) gave me. She paint them herself for her son, but since her son is already 9 years old, she decided to give them to me. Sangat terharuuu okkkk...She is very talented and of course rajin!

Site Visit : Water Transfer Tunnel

Well it has been a very long time since I have the chance to visit a workplace/site. Last month, to be exact on 13th of December 2011, we (my colleagues, students and I) managed to pay a visit to Pahang-Selangor Water Transfer project. It is a Shimizu-Nishimatsu-UEM-IJM Joint Venture tunnel project.

This is their site office, nice huh? It is super duper clean, and everybody was like "is this the site? Seriously?"

No wonder, this project was loaned by the Japanese (I cant remember the name of the funder), by 1% interest rate. Ambik ko, sampai interest rate pun kitorang tahu. So the system of work is strictly Japanese-way-of-work. One of the worker told us, the Japanese themselves will pick any cigarette end on the floor and put it in the pocket. 

This tunnel project is more than 40% completed, with approval from DOE Malaysia and yet to received the BEST Safety and Health award from DOSH!!! And of course by following the Japanese requirements also. They informed us that the workers' house have an air conditioner at every unit and Astro! Kaya gilos!!

After a short briefing by the KeTTHA officer, we were given the appropriate Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) and zassss took a walk to the site. The explanation was given by the Japanese engineer, Mr Shuri-san.

Lets take a look on the safety measures installed. 

This is Tally Board, where you have to flip your card before you enter, AND after you leave the tunnel. This is to make sure how many workers/visitors are in the tunnel in case any emergency happens. Oh, they have their own medic room and an ambulance. Thumbs up!

Emergency phone. The Safety and Health Officer even took the oxygen level and also the level of hazardous gases . When he have confirmed the level is safe, only then we were allowed to enter the tunnel. 

Inside one of the Adit. Sila gunakan laluan pejalan kaki ye anak-anak. 

This is where they treat the waste water before any discharging. DOE requirement. 

On the engineering aspect, sorryla tak terror. But all I know they are using 2 types of machines, which costs millions each.  The picture above is called TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine). They call it TIARA-MIDORI. Midori tu maksudnya hijau. This kind of machine jugak yang korek SMART Tunnel tuu. This machine even have a part where they can hide if emergency happens. Siap ada mask, breathing apparatus, etc. 

All the dust/waste from the digging process will be transferred using the conveyor. Hassle free from using the lorries. look, the floor sangat bersih kan, boleh main kejar-kejar lagi. 


We are more excited to meet the Japanese Engineer. *gatal. They are so young! Yet handle a big  project! 

I cant remember his name. In his 20s. Masa aku nak balik siap tolong tutupkan pintu kereta. Orang Jepun memang gentleman.

If not mistaken, he is Suzuki-san. My friend said he looks like a K-Pop singer. Really? I dont listen to K-pop, sorry. They know a few Malay words, masa bos dia ajak makan, dia reply "sudah kenyang", bila tanya how many years have you been here, dia reply "2 tahun setengah". Hehe comel comel. Amboi amboi.
